Linlithgow Civic Trust
West Lothian Doors Open Days
2021 dates confirmed!
11-12 September 2021
Linlithgow Civic Trust (LCT) is the co-ordinator of Doors Open Days in West Lothian.
Doors Open Days is organised nationally by the Scottish Civic Trust.
Due to Scottish Government's COVID-19 restrictions, the West Lothian Doors Open Days event for 2020 was a digital only event - no venues physically opened. It is not yet clear whether the 2021 event will be the same again. We will continue to monitor the situation over the next few months and make all the necessary announcements nearer the time - so watch this space!
All the details you need will be uploaded onto the Doors Open Days website in advance of the weekend - see https://www.doorsopendays.org.uk/.
We are hoping that many of our usual venues will sign up to take part again this year and maybe a few new ones too. There will of course be lots of additional content from other areas too. If needs be, you will be able to enjoy all that this year's festival has to offer from the comfort and safety of your home!
Doors Open Days is Scotland’s largest free cultural festival. It celebrates the built environment and, in normal times, would give free access to around 1,000 venues across the country throughout September, every year.
Doors Open Days is coordinated nationally by the Scottish Civic Trust with annual support from Historic Environment Scotland. Local area programmes are co-ordinated by a network of local authorities, heritage consultancies, civic societies and heritage groups who are in turn supported by a large number of volunteers, businesses, community organisations and building owners. The Scottish scheme forms part of ‘European Heritage Days’.
Linlithgow Civic Trust has organised West Lothian’s Doors Open Days since 2011 and is proud to be doing so again in 2021.
To give you a flavour of what has been on offer in the area in the past, the programme for 2019 can be downloaded below.
